-Medical Kits-

Great project for VBS, sunday school classes, or any group!

Health care for the poor in Brazil is precarious. Local health clinics cannot keep up with the demands of such large groups of people. Long lines and difficulties getting to these clinics or the hospital result in many giving up. Contagious sores are common on the childrens bodies and they wind up spreading due to lack of common antibiotic ointments. The ointments are available in Brazil but, for the poor, when the health clinic doesnt give it to them they don't have the means to go out and buy them at the pharmacy.

Band-Aids, gauze, antibiotic ointment, burn cream, eye wash, Tylenol, ace bandage, thermometer, tweezers, etc are items that are needed in every home and they are just the things that most families are lacking.

Conditions in the favelas are usually very unsanitary. Many of the children play barefoot in the streets among the trash and running sewage. Skin rashes, such as Impetigo, are common as sores and cuts often times go untreated and hands are infrequently washed.

If you or your group would be interested in providing some of these kits the supplies can be gathered and sent with a team scheduled to come this way or, funds could be sent and the supplies purchased here. For more information please contact us.
